Pathology Report

Friends and Family,

We received the results from my dad's pathology report. The report confirmed that the type of cancer he has is pancreatic cancer. His surgeon also took out a large number of lymph nodes to test for cancerous cells, and unfortunately after the tests, the cancer is still present in my dad's body. He plans on meeting with his oncologist and starting chemo as soon as his body has recovered enough to handle it.

Our family is disappointed (understatement of the year) with this news, as I'm sure are all of you.

Brucie is resting comfortably in Seattle until probably Friday, and then will head back to Sunnyside. We'll send more updates as we get them.

Love,

Jamie

  3. Thanks for the update Jamie. I have a heavy heart too with this news. I hope to give your mom and dad (and you!) a big hug soon. I am going to my parents' house next week, so hopefully can catch up with them then. Sending my love!

    1. Hey Em. Definitely try to catch them next week when you're home. I'm assuming you'll be there the same time Abbie will be? I know they'd love to see you all. I told my dad about your attempts to come visit him when he was in the hospital; your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for caring so much about my dad. Love you.

  5. This is the saddest news to log onto your blog and read this. I was really hoping that it would be isolated and somewhat happier news. I'm so sad to read this!!! I'll keep hoping for some better news along the way. I love you Bruce!!

  6. Bruce, know that our family as well as our entire church congregation (Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church) has been praying for you. Along with the Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 3, we pray (especially verse 20):

    16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

    17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

    18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

    19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

    20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

    21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

  7. We are so disheartened by this news. You are continually in our thoughts and prayers.

    We love you and look forward to getting you home, Bruce and Jeanie. I think you'll find that you're even more popular than when you left. :)
